LeVonne Nelson, Professor Emeritus

Biographical Sketch:

Professor Nelson was a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies from 1989 until her retirement in 2011. While at Fullerton College, Professor Nelson taught Philosophy sections of 100F, 135F, 160F, 172F, 195F (formerly 198B), 201F and 202F, as well as English sections of 102F.

Professor Nelson was also actively involved in the Study Abroad Program, serving as Program Coordinator and instructor in Florence, Italy and Madrid, Spain. Her cheerful disposition and willingness to help students served her well during her 22-year long career at Fullerton College.

Professor Nelson's thesis for her M.A. in Philosophy was on Nietzsche, and her thesis for her M.A. in English was on the concept of utopia in Augustine and Moore.

Areas of Interest:

Professor Nelson's areas of interest and expertise include existentialism, women in philosophy, the history of philosophy, literature, and the arts.
